You stay in control

Download, update, or delete your data at any time by visiting Settings or contacting our privacy team.

Information we collect

When you create an AstroMatch account we ask for enough information to calculate compatibility insights and keep the community respectful.

Account basics

Name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and login metadata so you can securely access your account.

Profile and astrology inputs

Birthday, birth time, and location, plus any pronouns, interests, or prompts you decide to share. You can edit these at any point.

Photos and media

Images you upload or choose from our generated options. We optimize image sizes but do not scan them for biometric identifiers.

Activity data

Match likes, passes, messages, settings, and support requests. We log technical details such as IP addresses and device type to prevent abuse and diagnose issues.

How we use data

We rely on the information above to provide reliable matches, protect members, and keep the platform running.

Compatibility and discovery

Generate astrological charts, surface compatible matches, and personalize recommendations.

Communication features

Enable messaging, notifications, and reminders so you never miss a connection.

Product improvement

Analyze aggregated usage trends, run experiments, and build new features that make AstroMatch more useful.

Safety, security, and compliance

Monitor for fraud or policy violations, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.

If you delete your account we remove or anonymize personal information within 30 days, unless we must retain it for fraud prevention or legal reasons.

Message history

Messages are stored so you and your matches can reference past conversations. Deleting your account removes your side of each thread.

  • Update your birth details or astrology inputs when your preferences evolve.
  • Block or report members to help keep the community safe.

Your privacy rights

We honor privacy rights available under applicable laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and other regional frameworks).

Access and portability

Request a copy of your personal data or export key details directly from Settings.

Correction

Update inaccurate information through your profile or by contacting us.

Deletion

Deactivate or permanently delete your account from Settings; we will remove personal data as described above.

Objection and restriction

Opt out of optional data processing, marketing communications, or request we limit processing in specific scenarios.

Consent withdrawal

Change notification and marketing preferences at any time without affecting services that rely on consent.

How we protect your data
